RUTH ANN BOYD

Osage City - Ruth Ann Boyd, 79, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Healthcare Resort in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on June 4, 1946, in Columbia, South Carolina, the daughter of Curtis and Daisy (Kaufman) Churchwell.

Ruth grew up in South Carolina and had lived near Osage City since 1977.

Ruth worked as a cosmetologist all of her life, working as a hairdresser, massage therapist and giving facials. Her family was the center of her world.

On March 10, 1967, Ruth was married to Ashley Wayne Boyd in Columbia, South Carolina.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ashley Wayne on December 31, 2025; by her daughter, Velvet Eargle; by a granddaughter, Ashley Boyd; by her mom and stepdad, Daisy and Harry Marcy; by a brother, Curtis Churchwell, Jr.; and by a sister, Linnie Ritter.

Ruth is survived by her three children, Cindy Martin of Elgin, South Carolina, Richard Boyd of Silver Lake and Cherokee Boyd of Estes Park, Colorado; by her three sisters, June Roberta Williams and Melissa Collins, both of Blackville, South Carolina and Jean Bryant of Springfield, South Carolina; by her three brothers, Frank Churchwell and Tim Churchwell, both of Blackville, South Carolina and Johnny Churchwell of Lexington, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, March 4, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Burlingame Cemetery.
