Mrs. Brittain was born in Coweta County on September 7, 1927, to the late Charlie and Bessie Byrom.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Robinson Brittain, two brothers, and five sisters. She was the youngest of eight siblings.
She is survived by eight nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brittain graduated from Starr High School in Turin on May 21, 1945. She retired from AT&T in Atlanta after working during the growth and transition years with Bell South and Southern Bell.
Mrs. Brittain and her husband lived in Florida before moving to Cleveland, GA. After her husband's passing, she moved back to Turin in 2008 to be close to family. In June 2019, Mrs. Brittain moved to assisted living in Newnan for health reasons. She loved Janet Pippins, her faithful caregiver, who was with her when she passed away.
Mrs. Brittain's faith was an important part of her life, including reading her Bible, writing, and memorizing Bible verses daily. As her eyesight failed, she enjoyed listening to Christian music and TV Pastors.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, Newnan, GA 30263.

Mrs. Brittian was a lovely person...one that my caregivers helped for a while and never forgot....sorry to hear of her death.
