Castleton-Ruth Ellen Corey, 91 of Castleton and formerly of Raceville, NY died Thursday Morning March 26, 2026 at her residence in Castleton.
She was born on Dec 20, 1934 in Castleton the daughter of Roy and Julia ( Wallace ) Patenaude.
Ruth grew up in Castleton and graduated from the Fair Haven High School in 1952.
She was employed by Simons and then at Micro Components and Cam Development until her retirement in 1986.
Ruth enjoyed Crossword puzzles, Bingo, Sudoku and Dancing.
Survivors include a daughter Jackie Monger of Albany, NY, a daughter Robin Pereau of Fair Haven, a son Eugene "Skip" Corey Jr. of Granville, NY, siblings, June Basso, Florence "Honey" Charron, 5 grandchildren, Nicole Pereau, Shane Pereau both of Fair Haven, Nathan Monger of Schenectady, NY, Jason, Monger, of San Diago, CA, and Jordan Corey of South Glens Falls, NY, 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her husband Eugene Charles Corey on July 29, 2018 a son Shawn Corey in 1980, siblings Marion Sartwell, Mary Schmidt, Doris Lilly, Jessie Cook, Betty Pudelka and Roy Patenaude.
Friends may call from 11AM util 1pm on Thursday May 14, 2026 at the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main Street, Fair Haven, VT. Graveside services will follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Castleton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601
