Ruth A. Douglas, age 82, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, February 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

Ruth Ann Major was born on July 4, 1943, in Saginaw to William and Eva (Huntoon) Major. She Raymond McLaren and had five children. She then married Allen Douglas in Saginaw, Michigan. Ruth worked as an activity's coordinator at Saginaw Senior Care, dedicating 16 years of service before her retirement. She attended Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for many years.

A lover of life, Ruth cherished the company of her cats and had a passion for playing bingo and euchre. Her vibrant personality made her the life of the party. Above all, Ruth found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, creating cherished memories with those she loved most.

Ruth is survived by her children: Rae Griffin, Penny (Kami Flathau) Maxwell, William (Tammy) McLaren, Steven (Sheila) McLaren, and Daniel McLaren; her grandchildren: Billy Ray (Christine), Alicia, Robert (Amanda), Jackie (Brian), Robert (Joshua), Chrissy, Karen, James, Alicia, Steven, Nicole, Danny, Cody, Daniel, and Tara Jo; 43 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Allen Douglas; her son-in-law, Ben Griffin; her grandchildren, Ieasha, William, and Amanda; and her special friend, Harvey.

Ruth's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.

Ruth's family would like to thank the 4th and 5th floor staff at MyMichigan Medical center in Saginaw for their kind and compassionate care in Ruth's time of need.
