Ruth Eannace Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vander Plaat Funeral Home - Wyckoff on Jan. 7, 2026.
Ruth Alice Eannace, age 100, of Wyckoff, NJ, passed away on Sunday, 4 January 2026.

Born in 1925, Ruth grew up in Wood-Ridge, before moving to Wyckoff 70 years ago.

An active gardener for most of her life, she planted flowers, vegetables, and herbs. She also loved birds, which she watched from her kitchen windows as they waited their turns at the feeders. Ruth loved to travel- appreciating the many cultures she visited and brought those flavors into her kitchen where her family were the fortunate recipients of her delicious cooking.

For nearly 50 years, she volunteered in many different capacities at The Valley Hospital, making new friends and sharing her time with others.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Carol Eannace Respondek (Allan), Barbara Eannace (Christopher) and Marilyn Eannace Collins (Jim) and her five grandchildren: Brian, Andrew and Daniel Collins, Max and Zoe Respondek. Happily, Ruth is also survived by her great grandchildren - Sawyer & Emilia Collins, Mateo, Samuel and Brianna Collins and Samuel Fajardo.

Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband Samuel "Doc" Eannace.

The family will receive friends for a brief prayer service on Thursday, 8 January at 12:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. Interment will follow at George Washington Cemetery in Paramus.
