Ruth A. Ellerbrock
GLANDORF - Ruth A. Ellerbrock, 66, of Glandorf, died at 12:09 am Saturday, December 27th, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima after a brief illness. She was born on May 19th, 1959, to the late Virgil and Mary Agnes (Knueven) Recker. On May 19th, 1979, she married Robert L. Ellerbrock, who survives in Glandorf.
Survivors include three children: Tracy (Eric) Kaufman and Brad (Ashley) Ellerbrock, both of Glandorf, and Kelsie (Clint) Salisbury of Ottawa; five grandchildren: Whitney, Kaley, and Griffin Kaufman, and Grady and Hayden Ellerbrock; eleven siblings: Jane (Fred) Schnipke of Ottawa, Ron (Donna) Recker of Kalida, Judy (Steve) Rosengarten of Florida, Kathy (Dennis "Pork") Ellerbrock of Glandorf, Sandy (Roger) Fuerst of Kalida, Eileen (Carl) Schroeder of Maria Stein, Nick (Terry) Recker of Kalida, Connie (Mike) Schmitz of Glandorf, Rick (Margie) Recker of Glandorf, Dennis (Kathy) Recker of Columbus Grove, and Steve (Sue) Recker of Mount Cory; brother-in-law: Dale Ellerbrock of Glandorf; and mother-in-law: LouAnn Ellerbrock of Glandorf.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel Recker and Mike Recker; sister Mary Recker; granddaughter Eve Kaufman; and father-in-law, Yogi Ellerbrock.
Ruth was a 1977 graduate of Kalida High School and a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Glandorf. She was a stay-at-home mom and later worked for Ottawa-Glandorf Local Schools as a cook and bus driver, retiring in 2023. Ruth loved spending time with family, going on golf cart rides, and attending her grandchildren’s events. She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and was their biggest fan. Ruth was loved greatly by her entire family.
Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Matt Keller officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. There will be no visitation Wednesday morning prior to mass. Scripture service will begin at 1:30 p.m. and parish rosary at 7:00 p.m. both Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be given to St. John the Baptist Church, Glandorf or Alcoholics Anonymous.
