Ruth Evans Obituary
Ruth A. Evans, 96, of Rostraver Township, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Born in Donora on March 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Homer M. and Edna (Ries) Staley.
Ruth worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone and switchboard operator for Fox Groceries. She was an active member of Perryopolis Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Paul L. (Cindy) Evans of Rostraver Township and Larry E. (Carolyn) Evans of Verona, PA; grandchildren; Lori O'Farrill and Heather (Mark) DiPiazza; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Calleigh; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R. Paul Evans; and siblings, Ralph J. Staley, Wendell A. Staley and Betty Alexander.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11a.m. with Pastor Simeon Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow in Fells Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Perryopolis Baptist Church https://www.perryopolisbaptistchurch.org or the charity of one’s choice.
