Ruth Frances Gilbert

Memorial Services for Ruth (Montgomery) Gilbert, 90, of Healdton, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Zaneis Baptist Church with Bro. Doug Henson officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
Ruth was born August 8, 1933, at Lindsay, OK to the late Mr. Carl Everett Montgomery and Mrs. Grace (Elmore) Montgomery. She departed this life Sunday, January 28, 2024, in Ardmore.
Ruth was raised in Lindsay where she attended school, graduating with the class of 1952. She married the love of her life, H.L. Gilbert, on November 29, 1953. The couple resided all over the country for a long period of time due to her husband's job in the oilfield. In 1968 they were ready to settle down and begin a family, so they made their home in Healdton. Ruth cherished her husband, two children, and two grandchildren, more than anything in life. She was a wonderful seamstress. Ruth also loved gardening, turning their backyard from nothing into a huge production of flowers and plants. After 66 wonderful years of marriage, H. L. passed away on January 15, 2020. Ruth was a member of the Zaneis Baptist Church and on August 5, 2022, she rededicated her life to Christ, and this was a very special day to her.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, Carl Everett and Grace Montgomery; brother, Carl Montgomery; sisters, Connie Currens and Jan Ducas.
Survivors include her son, Lawrence Gilbert of Healdton; daughter, Ann Owen and husband Greg of The Woodlands, TX; granddaughter, Maddie Owen of Fort Worth, TX; grandson, Evan Owen of Austin, TX; nephew, Monte Montgomery; special cousin who was like a sister to "Ruthie", Terry Cosby; her feline companion, Morris; numerous other family and friends.
