Ruth Goff Obituary

Published by Cobb Funeral Home Inc on Aug. 18, 2012.
Mrs. Eva Ruth Gunter Goff, 92, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012, at her home. Born in Trimble, Tennessee to Alonzo A. and Pansy Terry Gunter Goff, she was five years old when she moved to this area. Nanny, as she was called, was an extremely hard worker and a wonderful cook. She loved her church, New Liberty Baptist, and especially enjoyed the fellowship and trips made with the "Jolly 60's". In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Preston Goff; her sisters, Lovie O'Neal and Louise Payne both of Blytheville; her brothers, Ellis Wayne "Slim" Gunter and Bud Gunter both of Blytheville; and a grandson, Jason Todd Goff of Byhalia, Mississippi. She leaves her daughter, Pamela Gail Maxwell and her husband Jimmy of Blytheville; her sons, Larry Preston Goff and his wife Johnnie, and Ronald Gunter Goff and his wife Elaine, all of Blytheville; five grandchildren, Chad Maxwell and his wife Candace of Memphis, Lori Hixson and her husband David of Blytheville, Grant Maxwell and his wife Allyson of Paragould, Bryan Goff and his wife April of Blytheville, and Leslie Wells and her husband Kirk of Blytheville. She also leaves twelve great-grandchildren, Madeline, Cash, Ava, Olivia, Ann Marie, Parker, Carson, Eva, Jack, Cameron, Hannah, and Zach. A special thanks to Dr. Ronny Smith and Lisa for the love and care they gave during her illness. Also, thanks to Calandra Hughes and Charlie Ann McKinney, her caregivers. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Hardesty officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 p.m. to service time at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at wwwcobbfuneralhome.com. The family requests memorials be made to New Liberty Baptist Church or the charity of their choice.
