Ruth Jane Green, age 82, of W. William Street in Corning, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 9:51pm, April 7th, 2025, while at home surrounded by family who love and will forever cherish her.
Ruth was born in Corning, NY on November 11, 1942, to Elwood and Thelma (Bray/Bruielly) Grover. She and Lawrence Ronald Green were married 9/23/1961, by Reverend Mearl (& Irene) Morse, at Assembly of God Church, Penn Yan, NY. At her wedding she wore a ballerina length white chiffon gown with lace jacket and crystal tiara and remains forever young at heart! Ruth attended Northside High School. She maintained a private cleaning business with her husband for several years after working at the Hilton, along with being a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother extraordinaire.
Ruth is survived by her loving daughter Carleen Marie Webber and son William Howard Green, both of Corning. Carleen was Ruths primary caregiver during her final years, honoring her mother and providing her the gift of remaining safe and cared for in her own home, which was always her wish. Ruth is additionally survived by two grandchildren she raised, Jeremiah Webber and Amy Brewer, who will forever adore her; five other grandchildren including Joshua Green, Jeffrey Johnson, Jessica Green, Tiffany Erway and Nicole Dann; great-grandson Josiah Buckley who she also helped raise; five other great-grandchildren including Alarabelle Brewer, Hailey Green, Lincoln, Presley & Dallas Schuler; nieces Kathleen Grover Dixon & Roxanne Grover Storch and their families; along with so many other friends and family members whom she loved dearly.
Ruth was predeceased by her sister Betty Jean Grover and brother Delson Elwood Grover, "Aunt Ruthie" Musgrave of Florida, and various other relations, including some from South Amboy, NJ. Ruths husband Larry went home to be with Jesus on 2/18/2009, and they are now together again. Ruth cherished her friends of whom there were many, including: Norma McFadden, Debbie Quick, Clara Empson and Donald Jewell, to name but a few.
Ruth was one of a kind! She lead a meaningful life and will live on in the hearts of her family and in the lives she touched for the better. She had unconditional love for her family, always believing and trusting they would know God and be saved. She pled the blood of Jesus over them at all times and will continue to watch over them from heaven. Ruth was a member of Corning First Assembly of God Church for many years, where she and her husband Larry were saved and baptized on 03-22-1981. The love of the Lord flowed through her. She was a prayer warrior, quiet hero, lover of Jesus, and spread Gods love to others including through her card ministry. She was always thinking of someone.
She enjoyed black tea, Sunday drives, Summer road trips to visit family, getting her hair done (lipstick and compact never far from reach!), Hallmark movies, Christian music, keeping journals and calendars of special moments, and making all sorts of yummy desserts. Ruth had a heart for the hurting and deep love for all children and animals.
Ruth was radiant, beautiful, and righteous. She ran the good race, fought the good fight and kept the faith. She was a good and faithful servant and is a friend of God, forever with him in glory.
