Ruth H. Grinstead, 98, a retired Underwriter Training Administrator for Allstate Insurance Company, passed away January 9, 2026.

Funeral Service:  10:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2026 in the Chapel of Holy Family Catholic Church.  Private interment beside her husband, Morris, at Holly Hills Cemetery, Granbury.

Ruth Henry Grinstead was born in Old Saybrook, Connecticut to Thomas J. and Sophie Henry on March 21, 1927.  She attended schools in the Statford, CT area where she met and married her husband, Morris C. Grinstead on April 17, 1947.  He preceded her in death.

She was active in various clubs while living in the Granbury area, including being Vice President of the Newcomers Club, President of Petals and Pals Garden Club, and active with the Opera Guild.  She also served as President of the Saint Frances Cabrini Ladies Guild, during which time the current church was being built.  In addition to her social activities, she assisted two fourth grade teachers on a volunteer basis once a week.  She was also active while living in the Bedford area as a volunteer at the Osteopathic Hospital and at the Hurst Public Library.

While living in Bedford, she contacted her State Representative, Carolyn Park, and asked her to sponsor a bill to the State Legislature allowing widows of Pearl Harbor Vets to secure designated license plates.  Ruth appeared before the legislature and the bill was passed.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
