Ruth Moore Hamrick

RUTH MOORE HAMRICK, age 94 years, a former resident of Petersburg, WV and a resident of Little Rock, Arkansas for the past twenty-one years, departed this life Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Parkway Health Center at Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born Sunday, July 20, 1913 at Elkwater, WV a daughter of the late Everett Burns Moore and Sarah Helen Daft Moore. On March 7, 1936 at Elkins, WV she was married to D. D. Hamrick who preceded her in death June 11, 1995. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are two sisters, Kathleen and Isabelle; one brother, Frank; and four half brothers, Fred, Paul, Ted and Gerald Moore. She attended the schools of Randolph County. Mrs. Hamrick along with her husband owned and operated Hamrick Oil Company at Petersburg, WV for twenty-five years. She was a former member of the Petersburg Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Petersburg Chapter # 146, Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Parkway Presbyterian Church at Little Rock, Arkansas. The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 10 AM to 11 AM, the funeral hour. On Thursday, at 10:30 AM at the funeral home the Petersburg Chapter # 146, Order of the Eastern Star will conduct ritualistic services. The Reverend Janet S. Jenkins will officiate and entombment will follow at the Maplewood Memorial Mausoleum at Elkins, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for RUTH MOORE HAMRICK.
