Ruth E. Morris Harrod, born July 21, 1930, of New Castle, Kentucky, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on November 23rd 2025 at the age of 95, after a long and full life, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Earl Morris and Minnie Ruth Morris; her siblings, Jimmy Morris and Joyce Ann Hancock; her husbands, William Richard Jaehnigen and Bobby P. Harrod; and her sons, George Morris Jaehnigen and John Paul Harrod.
She is survived by her children Billy Dick (Robbie) Jaehnigen, Cynda Lewis, and Trina Jaehnigen; her grandchildren Sheri Cole, Richard Jaehnigen, and Cassie (Kevin) Tingle; along with many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Ruth was a founding member of Town and Country Homemakers and an active member for over 50 years, achieving 48 years of perfect attendance. She proudly served as President for 13 years and held various other offices throughout her membership. She was wonderfully crafty and loved creating all types of handmade items. Her talent for making things brought joy to her family, her friends, and anyone blessed to receive one of her creations.
Ruth was also a lifetime member of Sulphur Baptist Church, where her faith and fellowship were central parts of her life. She taught water aerobics for many years, staying active and encouraging others along the way. Her warm spirit, creativity, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sulphur Baptist Church 5299 Sulphur Road, Sulphur Ky 40070.
Ruth will be remembered for her strength, her generosity, her devotion to her family, and the countless lives she touched over her 95 remarkable years.
Arrangements for the funeral service: Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28th, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with services beginning at 2:00 PM.
