Mrs. Ruth M. Haydt
Mrs. Ruth M. Haydt, 91, of Towamensing Township, Kunkletown, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, in the Scenic View Personal Care Home, Palmerton. She was the loving wife of the late Paul D. Haydt, who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 2024.
Born in Kunkletown on July 26, 1934, she was a daughter of the late James and Adelaide (Meckes) Burger.
Ruth had worked as a supervisor for Scotty's Fashions, Kresgeville and Lehighton, for many years until retiring.
She was a member of Jerusalem United Church of Christ and the Towamensing Township Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, both of Trachsville.
She enjoyed baking and cooking for family get-togethers. She also enjoyed sewing.
Ruth blessed us with understanding, care and gracious love. As a mother, she was a reliable source of strength and support for her family.
We have been blessed with the presence of Ruth in our lives. She will be deeply missed by her children: Lonnie Haydt, and spouse, Nancy, Glenn Haydt, Cliff Haydt, and spouse, Tammy, and Ross Haydt, and spouse, Lori, all of Kunkletown, and Paula Gower, and spouse, Roger, of Effort.
She was the loving grandmother to Chad Shupp, and spouse, Amy, Heath Shupp, and companion, Missy, Joshua Haydt, Jennifer Haydt, Tyler Haydt, and spouse, Jaclyn, Bo Haydt, and spouse, Alexandria, Wade Haydt, Tori Haydt, and companion, Cameron, and Colby Haydt; great-grandmother to Emily, Brianna, Taylor, Morgan, Adalyn, Evelyn, Marilyn and Tate; and great-great-grandmother to Jettsyn.
Ruth is also survived by her siblings, Millie Burger, Wesley Burger and Russell Burger; brothers-in-law, Frank Ryder, Raymond Carter, Richard Haydt and Eddie Arnold; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by siblings, Faye Carter, Shirley Ryder, Nina Haydt, Elsie Arnold and James Burger Jr.
Services: Funeral service noon Friday, Oct. 24, Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, 1426 Rt. 209, Gilbert, with the Rev. Marion Johnson officiating. Ruth will be laid to rest next to her loving husband at Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, Trachsville. Family and friends are welcome to offer condolences on Friday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m.-noon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Ruth M. Haydt to Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Road, Palmerton, PA 18071. Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, 1426 Rt. 209, Gilbert, is entrusted with her arrangements.
