Ruth V. Heck

Ruth Virginia Heck, age 90 of the Pigeon area, passed away Saturday evening May 7, 2016, at Home Sweet Home Assisted Living in Pigeon. Ruth was born November 8, 1925, the daughter of Bert and Hazel (Cummings) Dubs. She grew up in the Pigeon area and married Raymond W. Heck on May 15, 1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Linkville. Raymond and Ruth farmed together and raised their family near Linkville. Raymond preceded her in death on July 17, 1994. Ruth enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Cummins, Michigan, quilting, crafting, gardening and baking Christmas cookies for her family. Later in life she became a faithful Detroit Tiger fan. Ruth is survived by her sons, John (Jean) Heck of Sebewaing and Donald (Nancy) Heck of Pigeon; grandchildren, Trevor (Heather) Heck, Angie Steele, Jason Heck and Jacob Heck; great-grandchildren, Jarid Heck, Hayden and Lydia Steele, and Emma and Coleman Heck; brother, Wilbert Dubs of Pigeon; sisters, Dorothy Hafner of Pigeon, Evelyn Bolzman of Kilmanagh, May Deering of Pigeon, and Ava (Henry) Gies of Linkville; sisters-in-law, Valerie Dubs of Kinde and Shirley Dubs of Bay Port; many nieces and nephews; and her family at Home Sweet Home. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; grandson Joshua Heck; great-grandson Taylor Heck; sister Betty Dunn; and brothers, William and James Dubs. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Rev. Christopher Suggitt, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Grandlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice. VISITATION AT ST.
