Ruth Honold Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Aspen Mortuaries - Arvada on Jul. 29, 2025.
Ruth Honold passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Lakewood, Colorado on July 15, 2025. She was born on February 17, 1937, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to Irma and Eric John, and spent her childhood in Sister Bay, Wisconsin.
After graduating from Door-Kewaunee Teachers College, Ruth began her career teaching elementary and junior high school. On June 14, 1958, she married George A. Honold, who preceded her in death. Together, they lived in Wisconsin and Illinois before settling in Colorado.
Ruth worked for the Adolph Coors Company for 17 years as both a Sensory Flavor Analyst and a member of the Hospitality Department. After retiring, she returned to her passion for teaching, working as a substitute teacher for kindergarten and preschool.
A dedicated member of her church, Ruth loved teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. But above all, family was the most important part of Ruth's life. She is survived by her children: Brian Honold (Erika Hupperts), Scott Honold (Bonnie Honold) and Jennifer Metz (Jeff Metz); along with her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Each grandchild and great-grandchild was a special blessing to Ruth and brought immeasurable joy to her life.
Ruth will be laid to rest with her husband George at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held by the family at a later date in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Ruth's memory be made to Glory of God Lutheran Church (www.gloryofgodchurch.net).
