Ruth Jack Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Whiting's Funeral Home - Williamsburg on Dec. 29, 2025.
Ruth Naomi Jack was called home to rest in the arms of our Lord on December 19, 2025.
Ruth was born on September 3, 1927, to her loving parents, Eliza Hundley Dixon and George Dixon. She was the second oldest of five children and is survived by her sisters, Christine Dixon and Brenda Gottschild, and her younger brother, George Dixon. Her older brother, Theodore Dixon, was called home to rest shortly before her on November 19, 2025.
Ruth was known for her dedication to both educating and bettering herself and those around her. She earned an associate degree from New York University and both a bachelor's and a master's degree from Adelphi University, as well as a certification in childcare from Columbia Institute in New York, her second home after Williamsburg, VA.
She worked as a teacher, a nurse, and an infant care specialist, but the work most dear to her heart was being a mother and grandmother to the Jack family. She will be fondly remembered by her two daughters, Debra Jack and Elease Jack; her grandchildren, Carlos Savory, Christopher Hale, Chelsee Blu, Alex Ashby, Meeya Randall, and John Jones; and her nine great grandchildren, Delilah, Nevaeh, DJ, Heath, Louisa, Zayne, Asher, Isabel, and Elias.
Services will be held in the spring at St. John Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member for more than 30 years. The exact date will be announced at a later time.
Those wishing to share condolences or offer a gift of love may contact Elease Jack.
