Ruth Joan Jacob

Ruth Joan (nee Nero) Jacob of Wauwatosa, age 92 years, was welcomed into heaven on Sunday morning, November 23, 2025. The youngest child born to Arnold G and Alma S (nee Fleischfresser) Nero on June 5, 1933. Beloved wife of the late Robert H Jacob for nearly 57 years. Dear mother of Roberta (Steven) Vonderheide, Jeanne (Dave) Hammer, Larry (Maegan) Jacob, and Cindy (Lane) Johnson. Loving grandmother of Stephanie, Amy, Rachel, Rebekah, Lauren, Logan, Jacob, Owen, Lucas, and Chase. Great-grandmother of Alexander, Cooper, Oliver, Lyla, Brady, Abigail, Ivy, August, Benjamin, Emory, Ringo, Autumn, and Aspen. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11AM, at OUR REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCH, 10025 W North Ave., in Wauwatosa. Visitation will be held at the church from 9AM until the time of service (11AM). Private interment on Monday.

Ruth had a strong, quiet faith in her Savior, Jesus, and worshiped faithfully at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Her life work was dedicated to loving and caring for her family. She was an excellent golfer and very involved in the Greenfield Women's Golf Club and New Berlin Hills Golf Club. When she wasn't golfing, she enjoyed reading, Sudoku, crossword puzzles, Scrabble, playing cards, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Ruth enjoyed long walks in Wauwatosa every day. She was very self-sufficient. She cut her own grass and shoveled the snow every year, even into her late 80's. She washed every dish by hand. Ruth never owned a computer but did all the family bookkeeping on blank paper where she would draw the ledger lines she needed. Ruth did the math in her head. She was always willing to help her children, whether it be building a deck, typing a college paper, walking dogs, or packing and hauling for a move.

During the recent years of Ruth's memory decline, she remained humorous, courteous, grateful, kind, caring, loving, and independent, doing whatever she could – herself. She had a smile, if not a little dance jig, for everyone she met. Special thanks to the staff at Heritage of Deer Creek and Horizon Hospice. They said, "Visiting Ruth was the highlight of their week".
