Obituary
Guest Book
I was born in October 1932 in Lauban, Silesia, Germany, the daughter of Eduard Gerhard Bula and Elisabeth Anna Bettermann. I had one brother, Norbert Bula (Christa), who died in 2001.
In 1950, I married Karl-Heinz Mettmann in Duesseldorf, Germany. We have 7 Children: Marion Dorothea (Stephen) Nestlehut, Regina Elisabeth (Ray) Kohutek, Eldred Hyrum (Jaena) Mettmann, deceased 2003; Ralph Nephi (Suzanne) Mettmann, Lee Roy (Kim) Mettmann, Susan Ann (Jeff) Jenco, and Daniel Ian (Megan) Mettmann. My husband, Karl-Heinz, deceased 2009.
We immigrated to the USA in 1954, were sealed in the Mesa, Arizona Temple in 1955, and moved to Utah in 1964. I loved living in the USA after being a refugee in WWII. My father was killed in the war in 1940, and my mother was left alone with two children thrown out on the streets. For me, my family was the most important work of my life. I love the whole big bunch forever. There are 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and 3 cute great-great-grandchildren.
I was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Book of Mormon is the true word of Jesus Christ. I served as a bi-lingual hostess in the Church Office Building for many years. I loved serving as a Temple Worker for 15 years in the Jordan River and Salt Lake Temples. I also served in the Primary and Relief Society for many years and loved it. The Lord blessed me to work in the nice new Sandy City Hall Utility Billing Department, which I enjoyed for 19 years.
Later, I married Merrill E. Bell, a member of the Taco Bell family. We were only married for six years when he died. I enjoyed traveling and seeing other countries in the world. The blue Mediterranean is so beautiful. What a trip that was.
It was a long and interesting life for me. See you all later.
