I met Ruth in 1977 when my family were members of The Methodist Church. I was in Junior High. Once I got to high school, she was my chorus teacher. I was heavily involved with chorus with madrigals, solo/ensemble, etc. I helped with Swing Choir & Concert Choir. She was such a huge part of my life during my high school years. She cared so much about her students. She thought of us as her kids. She lived her life to the fullest. Christmas parties at her home were amazing! I have thought of her so often since leaving high school 40 years ago. I will miss her deeply. Heaven has gained an amazing angel.

I first met Ruth when I was in 7th grade back in 1963. I was in chorus and then Concert choir (only it wasn't called concert choir then) until graduation in 1969. A memory I'm proud of is we were the 1st high school choir she had that she felt was strong enough to do selections from The Messiah. It was so exciting. And later in the Community Chorus we did a performance of Elijah. I also was so impressed that for a Memorial Day performance she chose 2 Bob Dylan songs. I learned to love all kinds of music that has lasted my lifetime. Thank you Ruth Knoll
