Ruth Janice (Hughes) Lawrence, 86, was born on March 15, 1939, in Boehler, Oklahoma, the daughter of Wayne Hughes and Geraldine (Neill) Hughes. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon West; son, Dale West and brother-in-law, Jim Clark.
Janice grew up in Boswell and graduated from Boswell High School. She married Vernon West in 1957 and together they had three sons. Janice had a rewarding career in nursing and as a caretaker. She enjoyed baking cakes, gardening, making ceramics and going fishing. Janice loved watching western movies and going to rodeos. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by those who know and loved her.
Janice is survived by her sons, Daryl West and wife, Mickie of Montgomery, TX and Dana West and wife, Lisa of Durant, OK; grandchildren, Jason West, Barton West and wife, Courtney, Brandon West, Brian West and wife, Jessica and Brett West and wife, Cassidy; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Frances Clark of Boswell, OK; brothers, Larry Hughes of Boswell, OK and Jerry Hughes and wife, Toni of Boswell, OK; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
