Ruth Lee Lemon

Of Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the age of 85.

Ruth was born on June 13, 1940, in Lansing, the second child of Raymond and Lois Bowman. She was raised in Lansing and attended Sexton High School. Following high school, Ruth started a family and devoted herself to raising her children. Later in life, she attended Craigs School of Beauty and worked as a hairdresser and later for Rich Plan in wholesale foods.

Ruth especially loved traveling with her sister for casino trips, antiquing, and thrift shopping. For many years, she operated an antique stand at the Mason Steam Show, something she took great pride in. She also enjoyed attending events at the Leslie-Mason VFW Post, salmon fishing in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and tending to her flower gardens, where she found peace and happiness nurturing beautiful blooms.

Above all, Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She cherished every opportunity to be involved in their lives, faithfully attending their events, activities, and milestones. Ruth will be remembered for her loving heart, spirited nature, and sassy sense of humor that brought smiles to everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merle Lemon. Ruth is survived by her children, Cathy Gomez, Cheryl (Rosevelt) Wilson, and Rodney (Terri) Benjamin; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Ray Bowman; her sisters, Marian (Don) Evans and Shirley (Carl) Gordon; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids Chapel, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice in memory of Ruth.
