Ruth Ann Levy was born on March 8, 1951, to Mary Louis and Warren Thomas Gordon. She departed this life on October 18, 2025.
She attended the Cincinnati Public School System and graduated from Courter Tech High School in 1970.
Ruth was married to her first husband, Daniel Ray Bryant, Sr. They had three children, Stacey, Daniel, Jr., and Terence Bryant. She later married the Love of her life, Melvin Levy. They enjoyed life, raising their children, and traveling.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Trinity Baptist Church. She followed the family as a child to 1st New High Point Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Arthur Randall, where she attended for many years. She later joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Allen E. Middleton, where she attended faithfully. She served on the Senior Ushers' Board and Galilee's Seasoned Saints Committee for 25 years. She had a special passion and love for Galilee's Seasoned Saints. She called them "My Senior Saints."
Ruth worked for the City of Cincinnati Contract Compliance Department for 30-plus years until she retired in 2012. She was called back to the City of Cincinnati several times after retiring as a consultant for both the Contract Compliance and the Purchasing Department.
She enjoyed being with her family, attending church, and going fishing. She also loved traveling and shopping with her sister, Sandy.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her daughter, Stacey; her son, Terence; her parents; her brother, Terry Gordon; and her sisters, Geraldine Carter and Carol Gordon.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Daniel, Jr.; granddaughters, Laquesha, Lashawnjaree, Tonnisha, Raesheena, Kemesha, and Bria; grandsons, Kevin Jr., Daniel, III, Isaiah, Deshawn, Tyree, and Terence, Jr.; her sister, Sandy; and four great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 2835 Beekman Street, Cincinnati (45225). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
She will be laid to rest at Landmark Memorial Gardens, 1600 Glendale Milford Road,
Cincinnati, Ohio 45215.
