Mrs. Ruth McClure, age 87, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away peacefully on March 25, 2021 after an extended illness. Ruth was born in Young Harris, Georgia on August 14, 1933 to the late Rev. Sim and Ruby (Welch) Martin. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Old Union Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Ruth was a hard worker and spent many hours preparing for church activities, cooking and loving on her friends and family. She enjoyed singing in the choir and gardening where she always had beautifully manicured flowers. She was a loving mother, doting grandmother and proud great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her above mentioned parents; husband, Charles McClure and twin daughters, Marie and Marchia. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law; Rusty and Teresa McClure of Carrollton, Georgia; Randy and Linda McClure of Blairsville, Georgia; Robby and Becky McClure of Blairsville, Georgia; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 1:30 PM at Hayesville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family is accepting flowers, however if you wish, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Old Union Baptist Church P.O. Box 688 Young Harris, GA 30582.
Banister-Cooper Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia is honored to care for Mrs. Ruth McClure.
