Ruth Nelson Obituary
2/26/1923 - 5/31/2023
Ruth Grace Kingsrud was born in Minneapolis to Selma (Johnson) and Ole Kingsrud of Oslo, Norway. She was the youngest of six (now all deceased). Her husband of 45 years, Robert E. Nelson (Monticello) died in 1988. Ruth's oldest daughter Sue Ellen Kollauf passed 4/15/2023.
Ruth is survived by children Brad (& Linette) Nelson of Plymouth, Robin (& Don) Pearson of Hot Springs Village AR, Wayne Nelson of Monticello, Dave (& Chris) Nelson of Rosemount, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Ruth thoroughly enjoyed her family and role as homemaker, but worked part time on occasion over the years, last working at Maus Foods. She loved animals, music, wintering in Arizona, and traveling to Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. She raised her children in the Lutheran faith.
Her life will be celebrated along with her daughter Sue's on June 24, 2023 at 11:00 am at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo MN (lower level entrance Friendship Center).
