Obituary For Ruth A. Punchard

Ruth Arlene Punchard, 94, of Rockland, MA passed away on September 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 29, 1931 in Mount Vernon, NY to the late Daisy Isabelle Canniff and Roger Williams Ferguson.

She graduated from A.B. Davis High School in Mt Vernon and worked for a number of years for Guenungs of Mt Vernon. Ruth moved to Rockland in 1963 following her marriage to the late Daniel M. Punchard. Ruth also worked for Rumford Litho in Abington, MA and for Business Forms in Whitman until her retirement in 1993.

She is survived by her two sons John Anderson, (wife Lynn) of Rockland, David Punchard of Rockland, a daughter Diane Morrissey (husband Joseph) of Rockland. She is also the mother of the late baby Paul Anderson. She had ten grandchildren, Lisa, Kerrey, Aime, Kelly, Erin, Meaghan, Sean, Katie, Daniel, Emily and five great grandchildren, plus several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Daniel Punchard, sister Janet Sears Linton (husband Edward), sister Audrey Feguson Lewis (husband Jere) and her ex-husband Herbert Allan Anderson.

Ruth will always be remembered by her loving caring nature. She was an angelic presence to those who loved her, especially her animal friends. Ruth enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, Faith, Family, Friends and nature.

Funeral Services will be private.
