Ruth Scott Obituary

Published by A.H. Peters Funeral Home - Warren on Jan. 9, 2017.
Ruth Scott, age 87 of St. Clair Shores, passed away January 9, 2017. She was born on July 8, 1929; the daughter of Jefferson and Blanche (nee McHone) Russell. Ruth had a gentle warmth about her and always had a story to tell. Not only was she easy to be with, she had an incredible moral compass with a relentlessly supportive nature. She was her grandchildren's biggest cheerleader and she never missed a game or event. A southern gal, Ruth cooked amazing southern food; including chicken & dumplings, homemade rolls, cornbread and banana pudding. Her recipes were staples at every family party. The majority of Ruth's life was a true love story. Her husband, Buddy, of 68 years predeceased her by 7-1/2 months, but their lives together were filled with genuine adoration for one another. Never apart, they raised their family, devoted their lives to Jesus Christ and inspired others with faith and kindness. Ruth is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Beloved wife of the late William "Buddy". Loving mother of William Lee Jr. (Cathy), Leonard Eugene (Debbie) and Kristine Omara. Treasured grandmother of Eric, Nicole, Kelly, Julie (Jason) Bennett, Jacqueline and Stephanie (George Jr.) Boussie. Proud great-grandmother of Jackson Lawson, Noah Maniaci, Becca and Tyler Boussie and Brooklyn and Blake Bennett. Dear sister of Alice Faye and the late Robert, James, Eugene, Hoover, Leonard, Grace and Phyllis. Ruth is also survived by many caring nieces and nephews. Ruth's family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12th from 2-4PM and 6-9PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic, Warren. Instate Friday, January 13th at 11:00AM until time of service 11:30AM at Tabernacle Christian Church (formerly Evangel Temple Church of God), 14205 E. 12 Mile Rd., Warren. Bishop C.J. Andre will officiate. A committal service will immediately follow at Cadillac Memorial Garden's East Cemetery in Clinton Township.

Ruth was one of the most amazing Godly woman I have ever met. Her kindness and love toward me and my family during my mothers sickness and passing , I will treasure forever. I remember her praying and loving on my Mom. She was gracious yet never condescending. She helped me realize that death was only for a moment. Eternity was what we were all pressing toward. She lived Jesus out loud. Nothing was more important. Thank you Ruth...you truly were a example of Christ ! Praying for your family today and always.

I had the chance to spend some time with Mrs. Scott this fall at Deb and Scottie's home and found her to be very sweet. Afterward, if she knew Robin and I were getting together she'd always tell her to say helloto me, etc. Warmed my heart..rest in peace dear lady.
