Ruth Marie Simon, 94, Casco, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025. She was born on October 31, 1930, to the late Charles Sr. and Emily (Naze) Massart. She married Cletus J. Simon on April 26, 1949. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1981.
As an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post 319 and an active member of the St. Peter Altar Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters, she dedicated countless hours to making her community a better place. Ruth also worked at Marchant’s Food and Moxies Supper Club, where her smile left a lasting impression on her customers and coworkers alike. Ruth was full of creativity and was an avid quilter and knitter. She loved to gather friends and family for a game of cards or just spending time with her loved ones, creating cherished memories that will live on in their hearts.
Ruth is survived by her children, Mary Burns, Theresa (Keith) DeKeyser, Bill (Terri) Simon, Susan (fiancé Timothy Leitzke) Vandersteen; grandchildren, Jennifer Langhoff, Stacie Tucker, Jonathan DeKeyser, Tavia Rennells, April Kauffman, Emily DeKeyser, Samantha Delfosse, Bobbi Nusser, Ashley Delfosse, Christopher Delfosse, Paul Burns, Missy Krcma, Scott Simon, and Kim Simon; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Charles (Marilyn) Massart, Mark Massart, Mag Havel, and Kathleen (Don) Leurquin; as well as by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus; her parents Charles Sr. and Emily Massart; father- and mother-in-law; sons-in-law, Leslie Burns, and Michael Vandersteen; grandchildren, Brian DeKeyser, Nichole DeKeyser; sister, Jennie (Bill) Merline; brother, Joe (Doris) Massart; sister-in-law, Marge Massart; and brothers-in-law, Cletus Havel, and Mark Simon Sr and his first wife, Phillis and second wife, Delight.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Casco, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Prayer service at 7:00 pm with Deacon Bob Miller. Visitation will continue on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Funeral Home from 9:00-10:30 am. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Peter Catholic Church in Lincoln at 11:00 am with Fr. Timothy Machila officiating. Entombment will follow at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Green Bay. Online condolences can be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
