Ruth Ann Slominski, known affectionately as Ruth to her friends and family, passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on September 12, 1961, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Ruth's life was characterized by her unwavering kindness, selflessness, and the abundant love she shared with those around her. She departed this world in Wayland, Michigan, after a brave battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and caring that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Ruth spent her professional career as a Quality Inspector, a role in which she demonstrated her meticulous nature and commitment to excellence. Her dedication to her work was paralleled only by her devotion to her family and friends.
Family was the cornerstone of Ruth's world. She is survived by her loving spouse, Jimmie Weeks, with whom she shared a passion for traveling, particularly to the Smoky Mountains and the serene upper reaches of Michigan. Their adventures together were among the highlights of her life. Ruth's spirit lives on through her daughter, Mistie Felty, and her grandchildren, Zachary and Cheyanne Felty, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. She was a beloved sister to Mark Randall, Cindy Randall, Linda Raaymakers, and Grover Samp, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Ruth's zest for life was evident in her hobbies and the joy she found in simple pleasures. Twice a year, she eagerly anticipated the girls' weekend with her sisters and cousins, a cherished tradition filled with laughter and bonding. These moments were a testament to her belief in the importance of family and the nurturing of lifelong connections.
Known for her loving nature, Ruth was the kind of person who brought light into the lives of others. Her selfless acts of kindness, whether big or small, never went unnoticed. She had a way of making everyone around her feel valued and loved, a trait that endeared her to many and made her an unforgettable presence in the lives of those she touched.
Ruth's passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but her memory will continue to inspire and guide us. Her kindness was a beacon of hope, her love a comforting embrace. As we come to terms with this loss, we take solace in the fact that Ruth's spirit will forever be a part of the lives she has shaped.
In honor of Ruth's life, her family will gather in private to reflect on the cherished moments they shared with her. Her story will be told and retold, keeping her memory alive for generations to come. Ruth Ann Slominski's journey through life was one of love, laughter, and selfless giving, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
