Hello all Soybels and Ruth-fans! I just (July 22) learned the sad news. I live in Florida. I recently lost my 90 year old husband David; I'm now visiting his family in Boston & was trying to schedule my every 2-years-or-so lunch visit with my favorite Boston College Law School (1983) classmate. Ruth & I were both in a small group we called OWLS (= "older women law students"), back when women were stull in a distinct minority in law schools. Ruth of course was the quintessential owl, having the most wisdom and twinkle. We discovered a mutual Lexington connection. On our rare recent get-togethers, we'd catch up on law and grandkids and books and solve world problems. Her mind was eclectic, her heart & intellect focused, her spirit generous & indomitable. What a blessing she was for so many. My condolences to all the family.

I was her first client in her law practice in her Waltham office. She was tremendous, kind, honest and very generous. I was young, frightened and she gently took me under her protective wing. My love to Halle and hope we can reconnect, I think of you often and pray you are safe, healthy, and happy. DJ Walkey [email protected] 603-832-3090 My prayers for you al,l in your time of sadness, may God hold you up and send grace and never ending blessings to your family. God is good. In his peace, Debbie Walkey

I always enjoyed seeing Ruth on occasion when she needed her clothes altered. She loved her clothes, so I certainly could relate to the fashionista part of the obituary. I will miss her dearly, rip Ruth, and my heartfelt condolences to her family.

I knew Ruth for a short period of time - 6 months since moving into Camelia Gardens - but I grew to love and enjoy her company and will miss her stories, wisdom and joy of life and love for her family
