Ruth Steuck Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 23, 2025.
Ruth Bertha Steuck, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025. She was born on February 11, 1936, and raised on a farm in Hutchinson, Minnesota, where she developed a strong foundation of kindness, hard work, and faith.
Ruth graduated from Dr. Martin Luther High School in New Ulm in 1954 and pursued her calling as a caregiver, training as an LPN at Swedish Hospital. In June 1958, she joined Methodist Hospital as one of its first employees, dedicating many years of service until her retirement in 1998. She spent most of her life in the St. Louis Park area, where she made her home and countless connections.
Following retirement, Ruth remained active and deeply committed to her community. She volunteered with Wise Penny Thrift Store, Timothy Lutheran Church, and the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, contributing her time and talents to causes close to her heart. Her generosity and service left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Ruth is survived by her sons, John and Steven (St. Louis Park), and Mark (Carla) of San Tan Valley, AZ; granddaughter, Allyssa (Farid) Arekpa of Dallas, TX; and great-grandson, Adam. She is also survived by her brother, Walter (Sharon) Radant (Hutchinson), as well as many dear relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by parents, Paul and Minnie Radant; husbands, Clarence A. Steuck and Ron Weilage; sister, Dorothy Cords; and granddaughter, Erika Steuck. Ruth's unwavering love for her family and her faith in God were constants throughout her life.
A memorial service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held at Timothy Lutheran Church, on Thursday, April 24 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to West Lutheran High School or Martin Luther College.
Ruth will be remembered for her kind spirit, steadfast devotion to others, and her enduring legacy of love and service. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
