Ruthann Cooper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Flanigan Funeral Home & Crematory on Jun. 26, 2025.
Ruthann Cooper, age 82 went to be with her Lord in Heaven on June 26, 2025. She was born in Buford, Ga on April 20, 1943, to the late Gilford and Rachel Bowman.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 58 years, Robert Larry Cooper; her parents; her brother, Earnest Bowman; her father-in-law and mother-in-law; and a nephew.
She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Holly Cooper; her daughter and son-in-law, Briggs and Richard Groves; her grandchildren, Ashley (Kevin) Tarr, Trey Groves, Brandon Palmer, and Jacob Palmer; and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, Harold Bowman; sister, Alice (Lindy) Clack; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Calvin and Ann Cooper; many nieces, nephews, dear friends and her pets Allie and Sadie.
Ruthann was a 1961 graduate of Buford High School and a devoted lifelong member of New Prospect Methodist Church. She was a woman of faith, strength, and she loved the Lord with all her heart.
She had such a kind heart and giving spirit. She faced each day with courage and grace after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis over 32 years ago.
She brought warmth, humor, and light into the lives of all who knew her. We take comfort in knowing she is now healed in the presence of Our Lord. She will be deeply missed and loved forever.
The family extends a special thank you to Georgia Hospice Group for their compassion and care the past few months especially in her final days.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 5:30pm in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, Buford, Ga. Visitation will be held at 4:00pm prior to the service. Pastor Stephanie Oden and Pastor Jill Mathis will officiate.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to New Prospect Methodist Church, 2018 Buford Dam Road, Buford, Ga 30518 in her memory.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
