Ryan Breuer, 33, of Mooreton, ND passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.  Visitation will be on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at St. John’s Catholic Church, Wahpeton.  Visitation will continue on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10:00 am, followed by his funeral mass at 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Dale Lagodinski as celebrant.  Burial will be at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Mooreton.  Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Ryan was born August 17, 1984 in Breckenridge, MN, to Steven and Robin (Nold) Breuer. He grew up on the family farm near Mooreton, ND, and graduated from Wahpeton High School in 2003. Ryan was baptized and received his First Holy Communion at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Mooreton, ND, and Sacrament of Confirmation at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND.

As a high school student, Ryan excelled in hockey, football and baseball.  Because of his love for sports, Ryan continued to stay active by participating in league softball and men’s league hockey.

Ryan especially enjoyed spending quality time with his two sons, Josiah and Jaxon. It was not uncommon, after a long day of farming with his dad, to find the three of them working on the basic fundamentals of whatever sport was in season.

Ryan was a member of Sons of the American Legion, Robert Bergman Squadron #283. He took great pride in coaching BW Blades Hockey, as well as mentoring younger skaters.

Ryan is survived by his sons, Josiah and Jaxon; his parents Steven and fiancé Melinda Ward and Robin (Jerry Dimmer); his brothers Stephen (Aleshia), Timothy, and Tyler; his nieces Jude and Ellie; nephew and godson Boden; his grandparents Robert and Mary Joyce Breuer and William Nold; his godparents Joe and Patricia Wittenburg, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ryan was preceded in death by his sister Mallie; uncle Joe Breuer; grandmother Mary Nold; great-uncle David Breuer; great-grandparents A. E and Eleanore Orstad, N.F. and Mildred McLeod, George and Helen Nold, and Ralph and Leda Breuer.
