Ryan Keith Johnson

Ryan Keith Johnson of Midland, TX, reached his Heavenly Home November 4, 2025 at the age of 62. He was born in Odessa, TX to the late Margie and Charles Johnson on December 22, 1962.

Although Ryan left us too soon, he certainly had a life well lived while he was here. In his younger years, he was a drummer for a rock band, Puppy Slam, opening for well known bands like Van Halen. Traveling all over with his band, he became familiar with many celebrities in the music world. He was a parishioner at St. Stephens Catholic Church and would let you know his higher power was Jesus Christ and that was a big part of his life. His motto was "Pray, not say". He really loved his parents. His father was his hero and his obsession with airplanes was because of him. He recently celebrated 16 years of recovery and he was very influential and active in the recovery community. He played in a second band named Sister in the Rain through his recovery years. Ryan was a very kind man, smart, funny, always putting others first. He was modest and humble and a true gentleman to all women. He was truly a good friend, when he loved you, you knew it. Ryan had a passion for gardening and had become the coveted L Street gardener. He had lots of love for his kitties, butterflies, flowers and just nature in general. He also loved his snacks; Lays Potato Chips, M&M's, strawberry milkshakes and butter…. from a cow… is all he needed.

He will be greeted in a Heavenly Reunion with his parents Margie and Charles Johnson and his daughter.

Left to cherish his memories are his friends and extended family.

A Memorial Mass will take place November 15, 2025 at St. Anns Catholic Church, 1906 W Texas Ave. Midland, TX 79701, beginning at 10:00am. A Fellowship Reception will follow at the Thriving United Community Center, 301 E Illinois Ave. Midland, TX 79701 at 12:00pm. If you could please RSVP if you will be attending the Fellowship it would be greatly appreciated.
