As young kids, my brother and I had 2 very special cousins, Ryan and Tracy. Road tripping up to Massachusetts during the summer brought the joy of spending time with extended family, but we really couldn't wait to see them. Whether we were playing in the backyard pool, visiting Roselle and Anthony's house or coming up with ideas for skits to entertain the family, Ryan always brought so much humor and a feeling of togetherness. Ryan solidified himself as my hero when he rescued me from a dog attack at 6 years old. Wishing we could have more time and more visits.

We were always so nervous getting on the train in Wilmington to go up to Boston. We were so young! We didn´t know what to expect and that´s a lot of ground to cover. Arriving in the Boston area to extended family always helped us feel a little more secure, but seeing our cousins was the touchdown that set us right for our visits. Those memories remain happy beacons of youth spent exploring ourselves and our family´s community.

We have been touched by the outpouring of love for Ryan. Ryan was an individual with a big heart and a lot of love to give. His mother referred to him as a pied piper because of his ability to gather friends. We're so sorry that he passed at such a young age. There was so much more life to live. He will be missed by so many.

My Ryan,
There are no words to help express how much I love you, how proud I am of you and how much joy you brought to me, my son. I'm so grateful to have been chosen to be your mother for forty-eight years. I've loved every minute of it. My grief seems endless, my love is endless, I will love you forever.

I haven´t been in touch with Ryan since we were growing up together back in Randolph, but his passing is a tragedy. My heart goes out to his family and those close to him.

To Ryan´s family- it was no surprise seeing after all his years working at camp that he became a social worker continuing to look out for youth. He was always phenomenal with kids and the best role model. I´m so sorry for his kids, partner and family. He was so much fun to be around!!! I´ll always think of him as the coolest big brother :)

Ryan you were such an amazing young man!!! I remember you as a kid first at Camp Yomechas. Then you joined our awesome camp staff family. For over 5 years you devoted your summers to all of us. I am most grateful for how you helped my son Matt. Matt was not a big fan of camp but as his Mom worked there he usually had to come with her. You took him under your wing and understood he wasn´t loving the camp routine. Thank you for patiently taking him out to the raft to fish and bringing him back when he was ready. You always brought your smile and laugh to everything we did at camp. I won´t ever be able to hear Kenny Rogers sing The Gambler without thinking of you. Love you forever my friend
