Ryan Cameron Peterson, born on June 25, 1999, in Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on March 27, 2026, in Wiggins, Mississippi. He was known by many as a big teddy bear at heart, someone who brought warmth and kindness to those around him.
Ryan graduated from West Harrison High School, where he built the foundation for a life full of dedication and care. He spent numerous years working at the Waffle House, where he was a familiar and friendly face to many. Later, he took on a vital role as a Correctional Officer at The Harrison County Sheriff's Office. His work there reflected his commitment to serving his community with integrity.
Outside of his career, Ryan had hobbies that brought him joy and connection with friends. He enjoyed playing video games and loved participating in Dungeon and Dragons campaigns with his close group of friends. He also valued time spent at the gun range with his buddies, sharing those moments of focus and camaraderie.
Ryan's life was shared with those who loved him deeply. He passed away alongside his fiancée, Kristina Carver, and her two daughters, Emley and Sarabeth Camblee, indicating the close and caring family unit they formed together.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Sylvia Peterson and Jay Peterson, and his siblings, Sean Peterson and Ashley Torries. His grandparents Emilie Papizan and Elizabeth Peterson also carry his memory in their hearts. He was a cherished uncle to Ellie Perry, Jaycee Foy, Elijah Foy, Leonardo Peterson, and Griffin Peterson. He is also survived by an uncle, Melvin "Marty" Papizan and an aunt, Brandy Ladner
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Melvin Papizan and Samuel Peterson, who are fondly remembered.
The community will gather to honor Ryan’s life with a visitation on April 2, 2026, starting at 12:00 PM and ending at 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM at the Riemann Family Funeral Home located at 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Ryan Cameron Peterson lived a life of kindness and dedication. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, service, and friendship that touched many. His memory will remain a comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
