Ryan Mills McMaryion Pettis, 34, transitioned to be with the Lord on December 17, 2025. Ryan was born on July 20, 1991, in Midland, Texas to Clifton Pettis and Reba Pettis. He graduated from J.M. Hanks High School in 2009. Ryan went to Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas, where he played football. Ryan started his football career while playing on the city league, the Renegades. Ryan later coached the city track team, the West Texas Boltz and mentored kids in football as well. Ryan achieved many accomplishments such as Mr. Football Receiver at Hanks High School, offensive MVP, one of the top 300 players in the State of Texas by Dave Campbell's Texas Football, and was selected Pre-Season All State. Ryan played in the 17th annual senior All-Star Football Classic at the Sun Bowl. Ryan ran track at J.M. Hanks High School and played the drums at church and sung in the church choir. Ryan was selected all district 1st round and many other accomplishments. Ryan had an infectious smile.
Ryan is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, 5 aunts and 5 uncles. Ryan is survived by his mother, Reba Pettis-Carlock (Paul), brothers Quinton Pettis (Ashley), Patrick Pettis, Kristian Diaz (Son), Melissa Diaz (special friend), Aunt Mildred Moore, Lavern Montez (Ismael), Uncle Lawrence McMaryion (Donna), Aunt Melissa McMaryion, cousins Reba Lashay Scales, Mahogany Scales, Ashley Montez, nephew Isaiah Pettis, nieces Kalani Rose and Harper Aubrey Pettis, stepson Evan Yeatman and stepdaughter Emmica Fonseca and a host of many, many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Rock Faith Center, 11201 Armour.
