SCALF
Ryan A., beloved husband of Brenda Scalf (nee Stein), cherished father of Kirsten (Jake Baumer) and Olivia Scalf, devoted Papa Ryan of Carter Scalf, loving brother of Todd (Phillip Poindexter) Scalf. He is survived by his devoted mother Rick and Pati Scalf and father-in-law, Eric (Sherry Roth) Stein. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his Goldendoodle, Maizi.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Mongo Brune, and Lloyd and Virginia Scalf, his cousin Dustin Brune, aunt Pam "Meatball" Brune and his adored Black Lab, Zinzi, who is with him now.
He attended Deer Park schools until his family moved to Bright, IN.
When he was a little boy, he would chase after his mother to get one more kiss before she left for work.
He worked in the HVAC business for 28 years.
Ryan had a big heart, and he was never able to say no to anyone who asked a favor of him.
Ryan loved anything he could do outdoors, especially fishing in his boat, cooking, grilling, building huge bonfires, and he loved having his family around him during the holidays.
He will be missed by his many friends, especially his best friend, Scott Schuh and wife Amy Schuh.
He was a beautiful person inside and out, and he gave his good looks to his daughters.
He believed that his wife was the strongest person he knew and would want her to be strong now.
Ryan passed away on May 7th at the age of 48.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 12th from, 10AM until the time of funeral service 12Noon, at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236) Kenwood. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
