Ryan M Vahey

Ryan M. Vahey, 32, of Berlin and formerly of Marlborough passed away peacefully in his sleep at home.

Ryan was born in Worcester, the son of Cynthia (Morgan) Vahey and the late Thomas J. Vahey Jr.

He graduated from St. Johns High School Class of 2012, Professional Golf Career College (PGCC) in Bluffton, SC, and then earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Framingham State University.

He worked as an assistant golf professional at The Haven Country Club and as a caddie at the Boston Golf Club in Hingham. During off season he worked as a server at the Longhorn Steakhouse in Marlborough.

Ryan is survived by his mother Cindy Vahey of Berlin, his brother, Christopher Vahey and his wife Irasema of Worcester, his sister, Kaitlyn Vahey and her significant other Max Perez of Gardner, his nieces, Charlotte, Lilia and his Goddaughter, Alexandra, his beloved dogs Jaxon and Gilbert, as well as many Aunts, Uncles, extended family and friends.

Ryan was an avid and talented golfer throughout his life and was passionate about teaching others how to refine their golf game. He was an avid Boston sports fan, particularly of the Patriots and the Bruins, having played ice hockey throughout his youth.

Most importantly though, he loved spending time with his family and close friends. His greatest joy was being an uncle to his 3 nieces. His infectious charm, welcoming and fun-loving spirit, and positive attitude lit up every room he entered. He wanted to be around people and loved making them laugh.

This loss has left a permanent hole in everyone's hearts, and he will be missed and remembered forever.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 2-5 pm in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Monday, February 23, at 11 am in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough, MA.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Buddy Dog Humane Society in their name is greatly encouraged.

Following cremation burial will be in the Spring.
