Ryan D. Wellington

Ryan Douglas Wellington, 58, of Colonial Heights, VA, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Tri Cities Hospital in Hopewell, VA. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Mack Wellington; stepfather, Robert F. Pecht, Jr.; and his stepmother, Ruby B. Wellington.

Ryan was a talented and passionate drummer who played in many bands. He had an unmatched sense of humor and was loved by many.

Ryan is survived by his daughter, Madison Wellington; his mother, Daryl R. Pecht; siblings, Carla Wellington Jones and her husband, Dean, Eric Wellington, Allen Powell and his wife, Susie, Anne Vaughan and her husband, Warren, and Angie Powell Burroughs and her husband, Mike. Ryan also had many nieces and nephews who adored him and will carry fond memories of their fun, loving uncle. Ryan’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his memory will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. A private family graveside service will be held in Sunset Memorial Park.
