Ryker Scott Woodard

CARTHAGE- Ryker Woodard, a beautiful baby boy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Carthage Area Hospital. He was born into this world on September 7, 2024, in Watertown, NY to his loving parents, Tylor Woodard & Shayla Chapman. 

During his one-month and 27-day journey here on Earth he touched many lives and was loved deeply by his family and friends. Ryker experienced holding hands with his mommy and daddy, and hugs and kisses from his big sister Wynter and family, his life was a brief gift to all who met him! He was unfortunately taken when everything seemed to be going right and life was great, and as hard as it will be, at least due to this he was given an amazing time here surrounded by family and great experiences, as short as the time we had him with us was. 

Survivors include his parents Tylor Woodard & Shayla Chapman, and his big sister, Wynter Woodard, all of Carthage. Grandparents, Gordon & Nakia Woodard, Jeff & Lisa Chapman; many aunts and uncles, Jessica Halbmier, Cassidy Woodard, Marissa Chapman, Alizabeth Chapman, Leianna Chapman, and Jonathan Chapman along with many loving great grandparents, great aunts & uncles, and cousins. 

He was a very happy baby who will always be remembered as having the biggest smile that could brighten any room, especially when loving to watch his big sister dance for him or tickle his toes, always falling asleep to nose rubs and head rubs as he would take his naps after getting a full belly. We are grateful to have been given the chance to have our son at a time of year when he was able to experience so much before his untimely passing, from watching dad and big sister fish off the docks to always going on rides on the double stroller around our apartments, having Wynter sprint to the stroller and climb in every time we opened the door to the mud room, so excited to point out everything she could see to him babbling all about it trying to tell him, "Leaf! Leaf! Slide! Slide!". We will all miss doing these activities and more, watching him grow to experience them. But he will surely be our little guardian angel watching over everyone until the day we meet him again.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home at 500 State Street Carthage, NY 13619.
