Rylee Cleland Obituary
Rylee Skylar Cleland, age 20, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at home in Upper Sandusky.
Rylee was born on January 4, 2005, in Findlay, Ohio, to Joseph A. and Shannan M. (McCloud) Cleland, and they survive in Upper Sandusky.
Rylee is also survived by her seven siblings, Shawn and Judah, both of Marion, Josiah, Colton, Dylan, Savannah, and Sawyer, all of Upper Sandusky, paternal grandparents Dennis and Debra Cleland of New Washington, maternal grandparents Gary and Rosemarie McCloud of Upper Sandusky, paternal great grandmother Geneva Cleland of Tiro, 2 uncles, Shane (Kelly) McCloud, Chris Cleland, 2 aunts, Heather (Larry) McDonald, and Sara Rowlinson, and many cousins.
Rylee was preceded in death by her sister Shiloh Cleland, maternal great grandparents Robert and Donna McCloud, Harry and Marilyn Weatherholtz, paternal great grandparents Eldon Cleland and Robert and Peggy Sand.
Rylee graduated high school in 2023 and was currently attending college at The Ohio State University in Marion, where she was studying early childhood education, and she was a member of the ASL Sign Team and choir, both at OSU.
Rylee was a member of the Apostolic Gospel Church in Upper Sandusky, where she was very active in youth group, taught in Sunday school, recently went to Italy on a mission trip, and worked at the KidzWorld Daycare at AGC.
Rylee enjoyed drawing, music, and learning new things. She loved to travel, family vacations and family adventures. She loved teaching others about Jesus. She was always giving, protecting, bringing joy to others, and always had a smile on her face. She was a bright light and had a big heart. She loved her family, friends, and God. She was her family's world
A funeral for Rylee Cleland will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at the Apostolic Gospel Church in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Pastor Rodney Donohoo. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.
Visitations for Rylee will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Friday, October 31, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the Church.
