S. E. "Pat" Capasso, 88, of Lawrenceville, passed away Tuesday at the Bear Creek Assisted Living in West Windsor. Born in Trenton, Pat resided in Hamilton most of his life before recently moving to Lawrenceville. Pat was a US Army Veteran having served in World War II with the 101st Airborne Division. He landed on Utah Beach on H-hour on June 6, 1944, was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman's Badge for service in Holland and was awarded the Belgian Fourragere for service in Bastogne, Belgium. He met his future wife, Lillian Rose Field, while stationed at Feasey Farms, Birmingham, England in 1944. Pat retired from American Standard in Hamilton and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Potters. He was a member of the Bordentown Elks for many years and enjoyed the Saturday card games. He loved nothing more than gatherings with his family. He enjoyed golf and ballroom dancing. Predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Lillian Rose Capasso, his parents, Saverio and Rosa Capasso, a brother, Ralph Capasso and a sister, Frances Capone, Pat is survived by his wife, Irene Graham; his son, James Capasso (Melissa Thompson) of Trenton; daughters, Rosanne Zarrilli (Gary Zarrilli) of Hamilton and Linda Gaspari of Ewing; grandchildren, Michael and Michele Zarrilli of Atlanta, GA, Daniel and Christine Zarrilli of Staten Island, NY, Nicholas Gaspari and Zach Gaspari of Ewing; three great-grandchildren, Adam Joseph, Ava Rose and Lila Grace Zarrilli; a brother, Domenic Capasso of Hamilton; a sister, Mary Crossey of Robbinsville and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin 10 a.m. Friday at the Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Avenue, Trenton. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Parish, 626 South Olden Avenue, Trenton. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton. Family and friends may call 8:30 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the Memorial Home.
