Sadie Lou Keene Clifton, 70 years of age, of Raven, VA, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Clinch Valley Medical Center. Born June 3, 1954, in Whitewood, VA, she was the daughter of the late James Keene and Nathel Reletes Harmon Keene.
Sadie was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Prayer House Church in Garden Creek, VA. She was an employee of Buchanan County Public Schools for over 20 years, working at Hurley Middle School as a Paraprofessional. She loved working with children and touched many lives throughout her life. Sadie enjoyed reading her Bible, canning and cooking, but most of all spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Tina Clifton; sister Pansy Eilen Church and brother Reeves Keene.
Those left to cherish her memory include sons Terry William Lester and wife Melissa of Raven, VA, Joseph Aaron Clifton of Keen Mountain, VA; sisters Dora Meadows and husband Ronald of Rowe, VA.
She is also survived by grandchildren Kim Owens and husband Richard, Morgan Lester and fiancé Justin Vance, Tyler Clifton; great grandchild Easton Owens; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Sadie Clifton will be held at Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home, Keen Mountain, VA, on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverand Ronald Meadows and Pastor Leonard Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the Day Cemetery, Bear Wallow Mtn, Jewell Ridge, VA.
Active pallbearers will be Tyler Adams, Roy Church, Kevin Blankenship, Michael Church, Roy Church, Harold "Pete" Church, Anthony Meadows and Ronald Meadows, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday and Wednesday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. with and evening service on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
