Sallie E. Yagel of Frankfort, age 94, died on April 16, 2024. Born in Springfield, Kentucky on June 10, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George I. Edelen and Eula Dickerson Edelen.
Sallie is survived by sons David E. Yagel and Joseph Charles Yagel (Teresa), both of Frankfort; daughters Mary Yagel Tanner (Brian) of St. Louis, Missouri and Julia Yagel Steinhardt (George) of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and grandchildren Anne Laura Yagel Middleton (Jason) of Frankfort, Mary Julia Yagel of Frankfort; Michael Brian Tanner (Winnie) of Bellevue, Washington, Joseph David Tanner of Taiwan, Valerie Yagel Mefford (Brad) of Frankfort, Molly Yagel Hutcherson (Kyle) of Frankfort, George Francis Steinhardt IV (Meagan) of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Charles Joseph Steinhardt (Hannah) of Fennville, Michigan, Jonathan Edward Yagel (Sarah) of Savannah, Georgia, Rebecca Lynn Yagel Steverson (Will) of Frankfort, and Joseph Daniel Yagel (Vache) of Darien, Georgia. She was a member of St. Catherine's High School class of 1947. After high school, Sallie attended Ursuline College (now Bellarmine University) where she received her bachelor's degree.
She was an active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary and served in different capacities in the parish school where her children attended. She enjoyed her Catholic family and treasured being able to attend church regularly.

I loved when I had the opportunity to have lunch with Mom and Sally when I was in town. Watching those two together was priceless. I know there's laughter in heaven now. Sorry we can't be there today.

What a delightful lady to be around. So glad I made a visit with her and seeing her beautiful smile. When she was living in Duckers Condos I picked her up one day and we rode all over Duckers Golf Course in my cart. We had a great afternoon riding and talking about golf. Love to all
