Sally's warm smile and gentle ways endeared her to all who met her; she was an exceptional lady. She and George were among our best friends while we were living in Spokane.
Our sympathy and love to the family.

We are so sorry for your loss. I remember her from the Freeman High School. She always had a smile on her face and encouragement in her voice. I remember when she got her first Birkenstock shoes. She said she didn't care if they looked "good"with skirts, they were so comfortable! She was a blessing to the staff! Pat Ralph and the "girls" (Kelley, Kittie & Korrie) - Spokane

From the few times i was blessed to have met Sally Alex she was full of GRACE and Poise. In my eyes she was the staple to the binding of the Alex family. The caretaker. The one to bring everythig all together. I have always thought of Sally Alex as a strong, tough, resiliant, woman. What a battle she has fought. Now she will rest and know peace. Her legacy will carry her forward. Bless Sally and the Alex Family. Memories are forever <3

As a distant family member who didn't enjoy meeting her until late in life, I am so grateful that I got to spend a few days with her and her family last summer. A very gracious host, she was a joy to be around, and the trip was very special to me. I smile remembering breakfast and spirited conversation on the early morning patio overlooking the lake. George and the rest of her wonderful family are in my thoughts.

Thanks for passing me in home ec even though I sucked! I still think my green cornbread and cakes with fortune cookie messages inside were a great idea....Alan Werhan class of 1987

Such a great teacher we had in Mrs Alex. She taught me the basics I needed to know to start life on my own. I can still sew a button on my shirt. My deepest condolences to the family.

Mrs. Alex was among one of the amazing teachers and menotrs we were blessed to have at Freeman High School. She was more than a home ec teacher, she was a mentor and a trusted adult for every student who entered her classroom. She patiently taught us the simple, and complex, skills of cooking, sewing and cleaning. But more than that, she taught me that I was important in those confusing teenage years. Her smile and her grace was so reassuring and comforting to so many of us. My thoughts and prayers to her family. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful woman with so many of us.

My deepest sympathy and many prayers to George and the entire family. Sally was truly a wonderful lady who illuminated an entire room with her presence. She was beautiful in every sense of the word. Sally was someone who stood out and made a difference in so many lives. George, my thoughts are with you...You and Sally have both been extraordinary figures in the community and have inspired all those around you. May God grant you strength and peace through this very sad time and may Sally's memory be eternal!

Mrs. Alex was one of the most influential people in my life. She taught me more than how to sew or cook, she taught how I should live my life. She served as a counselor to me, as a mentor, as a role model, and after high school as a friend. She was an amazing woman. I am thankful that this gracious lady came into my life. xo
