Sally Jane Myers Bowman, 91, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. She was born on November 13, 1931, to the late Remley Emmanuel Myers and Helen Armstrong Myers. Sally was a kindhearted and dedicated woman. She spent 23 years of her life as a military spouse- where she lived in 14 different states during her husband's service. She enjoyed the change of scenery and traveled to Europe as well. Sally earned her bachelors in political science at the age of 50, which was an accomplishment she was particularly proud of. She had a deep love for the great outdoors, you could often find Sally admiring flowers. She was very fond of dogs, but most of all loved her family. She will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, Sally is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Ray Bowman. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Elizabeth Welch; Son-in-law, Robert Welch IV; two sons, Bradley Ray Bowman (Cita), and Scott Malcolm Bowman (Kathy); four grandchildren, Forrest Bowman, Matthew Welch, Kathryn Welch, and Robert Welch V. Sally's family extends sincere thanks to all the wonderful staff at Gentiva Hospice of Asheboro and Spring Arbor Greensboro both for taking such wonderful and special care of her during this time of need, providing love and support every step of the way. Sally will join her beloved husband, Ray, in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the local Alzheimer's Chapter at 4600 Park Road, Suite 250 Charlotte, NC 28209. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
