On August 7, 2025, Sally Ann Grall (Weitz) joined the Lord in eternal rest in her home in
Appleton, Wisconsin at the age of 78 years old. She left this realm surrounded by members of her immediate family after a courageous battle with kidney disease. In 1999, Sally received a life-saving liver transplant that provided her and her family with the gift of twenty-six additional years. The gift of organ transplantation served as a reminder of the beauty that every day provides, and Sally made sure to make everyday count for all those around her.
Sally Grall was a wife and a mother who created the most warm and loving home that her husband, children and grandchildren could ever have dreamt of. She had a smile that was full of love and laughter-and maybe a slight bit of benign mischievousness. Sally loved to elaborately decorate for the holidays. One could only marvel at the efforts that she would go to in making her home one that inspires daydreams and wonderment for children of all ages. During Halloween, she would dress up and her house became the beacon for all those young children who knew her house was the one that "had all the good stuff!" Sally's home was always full of classic country music, religious songs, and Elvis. Sally's legacy is the love that she gave so freely to others in every way. She would say, "I am a 'more' girl,"-meaning she wanted to always give more because she loved to see the excitement and joy it brought to others. Her generous heart gave generously, she loved to help others and enjoyed secretly sending anonymous gifts to others. Sally was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and her faith was the most important thing to her. If she knew you were reading this, she would tell you to "Let go and let God," "All things are possible, but only through God," and "Everything you do should glorify God."
As wife to Gerald H. Grall, she had two children, Angela Carney (Grall) and Jeremy Grall, and two grandchildren; Aiden and Adelyn Carney. Gerald and Sally were married for 57 years and in that time, their love only grew every day. Even in her last days in brief moments of lucidity, her first question was always, "How is Jerry? Make sure he is OK and taken care of." At all stages of her life, her main concern was for other people and tending to them.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: Donnie, Jerry and Harry Weitz, and her sisters: Joyce Brown and Jeanne Rasmussen.
She is survived by her husband Gerald, daughter Angela (David) Carney son Jeremy (Becky) Grall, her grandson Aiden Carney, and granddaughter Adelyn Carney.
A Mass of Resurrection for Sally will take place at 11 AM. on Wed, August 13, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev William Swichtenberg officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 AM directly at church. Lunch will follow the Mass, and she will be laid to rest at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.
The family would like to extend thanks to Darlene Aschinger and Morgan DeLeon for their help throughout the years, as well as the hardest final week, and the hospice nurses and Senior Helpers that tended to Sally in her final days.
