Sally Hink Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Better Place Funeral & Cremation Services on Mar. 4, 2026.
Sally Ann (West) Hink, 82, passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2026. She

is survived by her husband, Bruce Hink; brother, F. David West; sister, Kim Evans;

children, Todd, Carolyn, and Brian Morris, and Heidi and Mike Hink; 9 grandchildren,

and 2 great-grandchildren. Sally cared deeply for her family.

Although Sally suffered from Alzheimer's Disease in her final years, she enjoyed a rich

and full life as a prolific and master quilter, creative writer, lover of the arts, music and

literature, singer, pianist, professional grant writer, expert seamstress, homemaker, and

not least of all, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Sally enjoyed a long and

successful career in professional fundraising for many entities, including the YMCA

headquarters in Chicago, Grinnell College, Colorado School of Mines, Salvation Army,

Madison Children's Museum, and Habitat for Humanity. She was well known as a

fabulous cook, baker, and consummate entertainer, both at home and in her

professional life. She was very social and had many deep friendships and lifelong

colleagues, both local and from around the world.

As a deeply creative individual, Sally infused her life and that of her children with

curiosity, art, books, music, and inspiration. She held a degree in creative writing from

Naropa University, Boulder, and was a certified master gardener.

Sally was the oldest child of Frank and Jean (McGillivray) West, and grew up in Des

Moines, Iowa. She went into Nurse's training at Drake University, married Victor Morris,

and traversed the country as an Air Force officer's wife. They eventually settled in Park

Forest, IL, and raised three kids in the Chicago suburbs. She later started a whole new

chapter in her life's journey and relocated to Colorado. It was there that she met Bruce,

the love of her life, at Amaranth Photography in Boulder, and was happily married for

her last 30 years.

Sally may have departed this world, but we still live in the joy and light of her legacy.
