Sally Mae Prestridge

Sally Mae Prestridge, age 90, of Terry, MS, passed away on September 16, 2025, in Terry, MS surrounded by the love of her family.

Sally was born on April 19, 1935, in Archibald, LA to John and Mabel Rushing. She graduated from Archibald High School and began her life’s journey as a dedicated homemaker, later serving with integrity as an administrator for the Hinds County Sheriff's Office prior to finishing her career along the side of her husband in their businesses; J. Prestridge and Associates and Professional Tax Service.

Faith, family, and church were her foundations. Sally was a founding member of Cedar Baptist Church in Archibald, LA and a member of First Baptist Church in Terry, MS.

Sally will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, sense of humor, and her unwavering love for her entire family. She had a servant’s heart ready and willing to help anyone in need. Her faith was a cornerstone in her life. She found great joy in attending church and helping anyone in need. Sally enjoyed shopping, dancing, spending time with family, travelling, playing cards and other games, as well as cooking big meals for everyone (her homemade biscuits and tomato gravy were family favorites). Sally also loved hosting and attending garage sales.

To know Sally was to be touched by kindness, laughter, and generosity. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched. She defined love; she was our angel and will always be.

Sally is survived by her children, Donna Stigall (Alan), Lesia Monson (husband Dan), James Prestridge (wife Pam), and Deidra Prestridge; grandchildren Braydon Stigall (Christine), Arin Stigall (wife Haley), Payton Stigall (wife Joni), Kyra Monson, Natasha Prestridge, Candice Hutton (husband Michael), Malcolm Mardling, Duncan Mardling, Max Saiger; and great grandchildren Kannon Houston, Karah Stigall, Jaleh Stigall, Parker Stigall, Cali Stigall, Allysce Prestridge, James O. Prestridge, Axle Hutton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James (Jim) Prestridge, siblings Vivian Rushing Weems (husband Shorty), Eva Lee Rushing Hill (husband Winston), Claude Rushing (wife Georgia) Betty Rushing Sims (husband Travis), Layton Rushing (wife Pat), and son-in-law Jeff Milewsky (Deidra).

A service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home. Visitation is from 1:30-2:30, with services beginning at 2:30pm.

The family would like to thank her wonderful doctors, nurses, and Traditions Health Hospice for their immense support and incredible care for our Sally Mae.
